Hopefully it will be a better game than the one against Mt. Vernon. The Wildcats had some flashes of offensive output, but couldn't have overcome their miscues even if everything else had gone their way.

The Tigers look again like they have some offense, but about as much defense as we've come to expect over the years.

If anything, there should be more scoring!

I doubt it will be much better.

Princeton will have more confidence coming in than did Mt Vernon. The Aces need to jump on this one early and stuff it down the Tigers throats. Can't let them hang around close for 2-3 quarters or they will think they can win. Get them down 2 scores in the first quarter and 3 or 4 at half and it will be done.

Princeton has won all 3 games big.

They beat Wood Memorial 55-6.
They won at Pike Central 52-24.
They won at Washington 60-34.

Wood Memorial is a 1A school that has lost all 3 games big - 55-6, 49-8, 59-8.

Pike Central is a 3A school that has lost all 3 games big - 79-8, 52-24, 42-3.

Washington is a Big 8 conference foe that has lost all 3 games big 21-0, 62-15, 60-34.

I do see a pattern here.

Which is why I think it is important for the Aces to strike early to remind the Tigers the natural order of things. I think it is also safe to assume that the Tigers have not faced either a defense or an offense like what MC should put on the field next Friday.

They do not. At least not in years past.

"While the IHSAA has no mercy rule, coaches and athletic directors can agree to use a running clock or halt play."

Indiana is one of only 18 states to not have some sort of mercy rule for 11 man football.

No need for a running clock when they play MTC . We have the "Peach Rule". That rule prevents even Sophmores from scoring Varsity points if the score is deemed too lopsided in our favor.

I don't think that that rule, if it exists, would apply to Washington, Boonville, Princeton, or Vincennes if the opportunity arose.

The 2nd team was what, 7 yards out? That's enough to say they're earning it. 2 yards... not nearly as much. Besides, remember the miscues with getting the play from the sidelines last week? The training wheels don't need to stay on in week 2, and they'll have PLENTY more opportunities this year.
