Eric Tritsch - Triad High School
(May 2003)

Eric Tritsch Bio

Eric attends Triad High School and is a leader both on and off the field. As starting point guard for the basketball team, he helped lead the Knights to a number of achievements, most notably the school's first ever Sweet 16 appearance.

On the baseball diamond, he anchors a young Triad squad that went 25-4 in the regular season and is currently ranked #6 in the St. Louis Post Dispatch large school poll.

In the classroom, Eric maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA and was named the Post Dispatch Scholar Athlete representative for Triad. He is a member of the National Honor Society and also serves on both the Knight's Council and the Student Council. We believe Eric is the epitome of the true student-athlete.

Eric is one of the toughest competitors we've seen. Anyone who has seen him play tenacious defense on the basketball court knows this as well. He overcame numerous shoulder dislocations and eventual surgery and continues to excel in two sports (the injuries forced him to give up football after his freshman year)

We believe his hard work has earned him the respect of all his coaches, especially Coach Grigg and Coach Butler. Eric has expressed interest in becoming a math teacher and coaching at the high school level. Eric signed with SIUE to play baseball.

A message from his coach - Darrell Butler:

"I started Eric during his freshman season and he has started every game since. Eric hit .381 as a freshman and has been over .400 for his career. He is #1 in his class academically and is our school's representative for the Post Dispatch Scholar Athlete. He was honored before a Cardinal ball game on the 16th of May. Eric started on our basketball team that made it to the sweet 16. It is the first time in years that a Triad team has made it that far. Eric is one of the main reasons that we did so. What can I say? Eric was a unanimous choice for the Mississippi Valley Conference 1st team All Conference again. He has been a unanimous choice for the past 3 years."

"Eric is a great kid. I have been so lucky to coach him. As I posted earlier, he twisted his knee or he would be really tearing it up. Even with that, he hit a shot off of Mark Carey from Civic Memorial that was amazing. About 8 feet off of the ground all the way to 375 and off of the fence. It was an absolute frozen rope. Eric hits 3rd in our lineup and for good reason. We should hear soon about Eric's chances of making the St. Louis Post Dispatch team and the Illinois All-State team."
