Still early, but I’m a little worried/frustrated as well. Still time to recover from this mess, but from a PR prospective, this is a bad look..
I wanted Castleton pretty bad but if we can still land Nolley, Ayo, and THT then this recruiting year would be a resounding success. Plus we could still land somebody in the spring, which could have a few more options available depending on the reach of the FBI.
I think Underwood's challenge, right now, is that his system's got a reputation for being guard dominant and with Lucas, Smith, Frazier, and DaMonte Williams with a combined 10 years of eligibility left between them starting next year, it's going to be hard to land many players under 6-5 with the exception of Ayo who is good enough to play for anyone in the country.
With bigs, it's not a playing time issue but a system question mark until he proves otherwise. How he uses Finke and Black will be interesting this year.
Our best chance all along has been with wing types. There's some tick to be had there. So let's hope we get Nolley or THT. Then we'll get creative with JUCO, transfers, late bloomers, and the international market. Ayo would be icing on the cake.
