I enjoy watching good point guard play, who will be some of the areas best this coming season? The few I have seen that IMO are worth taking the time to watch are:
Cameron - Plains, Jr Burchett - Waverly, Jr Leonard - Sangamon Valley, Sr Keltner - Franklin, Sr Day - West Central, Sr Masters - Greenfield, Soph Muench - Auburn, Jr Let me know if you agree and who you think should be on the list. |

Burchett is very fun to watch. He's super quick and has a great handle.
Muench won't play much point. It will be Butler (when his wrist heals) and Korben Clark bringing the ball up with Muench at the wing. He'll play the point on defense. Overall, there is some real talent in Central Illinois at the point with some potentially very fun matchups.

I put Muench on the list thinking he would be moved to point since Auburn was dealing with an injury to their point guard position.
Burchett is fun to watch, I am expecting him to really take over this year and lead his team. |

Ross Learnard- Salt Fork, Soph.
Very quick and simply understands the game. Will struggle early in year adjusting to varsity ball, but by January will be a huge factor. |

Watch Zach Parrish from PORTA/AC, he's had really good games the last couple of years but lacks consistency. Their has been times where he's taken over games and made unbelievable passes but other games he'd be non-existent. Now that he's a senior and has a change of scenery with the new PORTA/AC coop maybe it'll bring out the best in him.

Take your pick with Jacob Timmermann So. or Nick Grapperhaus Sr. for Breese Central! They can flat out defend too!

Mark Niebrugge- T-town, Health permitting.
Also another one that I think is going to be a good little point guard. The Plank kid from Arthur. Was just a freshman up there last year but he has court awareness and basketball instincts that are ahead of his age. Don't know how much bigger he will get, but he looks like he might be a good one.

Not sure, but I think we may be hearing about a kid from Woodlawn named Ryan Richardson. I watched him play a few times last year as an 8th Grader and was amazed at this kid’s athleticism. He is so quick and can jump for a freshman guard. I think he won the Jr. High 200m state track meet last year and had the fastest time in SI. He doesn’t score much yet, but it’s all the other little things he does. The games I saw last year he might have been a little too unselfish. Keep and eye out for him. If he keeps improving I think he’s going to be one exciting player to watch in the near future in SI.

Cerro Gordo
Kaleb Krigbaum - Sr. Cody Woollen - Sr. Both are good ball handlers who like to get after it on the defensive end of the floor. |

Joel Eagleson-Olney- Not really flashy but very solid, and does a great job of taking care of the ball. Also improved on his shooting.
Aaron Siler- Robinson- Very explosive scorer. Would certainly classify him as a scoring guard. Paul Knapp- Flora- A go to guy with clutch ability. Can shoot and drive well, and his big thing is the ability to create his own shot. |
